How You Have Inspired Us

How You Have Inspired Us

Gratitude from the Quotiful team.

This week we want to express our immeasurable thanks to our community. We are so grateful to share this journey with you. Everyday, our team is inspired to work harder and grow this community to ultimately help people live more inspired lives. Below we've shared a few quotes we frequently see in the app and expressed how thankful we truly are for the constant motivation.

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." - Eleanor Roosevelt.

Whenever we see this quote pop up in the feed we are reminded of the beautiful future we envision for Quotiful. Our vision is plastered on walls, scribbled in notebooks, and carefully crafted in PowerPoint presentations but sometimes it's easy to lose sight of it. This quote keeps us focused and moving forward towards a greater goal. Thanks for keeping us inspired!

"Life always offer you a second chance. It's called tomorrow."

Things don't always go as planned and we've certainly made some mistakes along the way. There can be a bug in the app after a new update, a miscommunication among team members, or an unhappy user who we've failed to provide a solution for. Naturally, we easily criticize ourselves for these mishaps but this quote always reminds us to stay positive and do better tomorrow.

"It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live." - Albus Dumbledore

Quotiful's mission to make staying inspired a part of everyday life is an ambitious one, so much sometimes that we focus all of our energy on work and forget that at the end of the day starting a business should be fun. We're thankful to the Quotiful community for reminding us life is short and we ought to enjoy it while we can.

Keep inspiring!

Quotiful Staff Favorites: Community Manager, Huyen Hoang

Huyen's favorite Quotes

Huyen Hoang on horseback in Jefferson, Oregon.

Huyen is our community manager and social media guru here at Quotiful. He has a passion for travel, social entrepreneurship, and a deep appreciation for the study of human psychology. He's continually inspiring us to live richer, fuller, lives through experiences and lives a minimalistic, nomadic lifestyle that we all can admire. He's currently in Portland, Oregon but soon to be onto his next destination armed with his camera, laptop, and an "anything-is-possible" attitude. Below Huyen has shared some of his favorite quotes and given us some insight on what they mean to him.

"The world is a book, and those who don't travel only read one page." - Augustine of Hippo

Huyen: I think travel, real travel, is something we all yearn to do. We want to travel more because it enables us to know what it means to be free. Transversing the vastness of earth helps us see how small a space we really occupy. It's a great remedy for human ego. Our social constructs about the world lose their hold on us and we're free to expand our perspectives. Travel is what it means to experience freedom to the farthest reaches of its limitless shores.

"The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience." - Eleanor Roosevelt

Huyen: We are the sum of our experiences. They becomes part of us. I think it's important to differentiate between diversity of experiences and the longevity of an experience. I think the former is highly underrated in our business-oriented world. In the business world, people with more experience are valued. But outside that world, these individuals aren't necessarily more experienced. They simply have one year's worth of experience repeated many times over. In contrast, I've discovered that individuals with more experience in life overall, both positive and negative, are more interesting to talk to. They have a presence about them.

"Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things with happen." - Conan O'Brien

Huyen: Hard work and kindness never go out of style.

Weekly Inspirer - Ashley Pauly

The Right Kind of Crazy

This week we interviewed the energetic Ashley Pauly. Ashley is someone who is inspired to always be at the edge of things in life where she can see and do more than the traditional mundane lifestyle. Read our conversation with Ashley below, and for more inspiration, check out her portfolio in the app!

Quotiful: One of your Quotifuls caught our attention. It narrows life down to finding people who are "your kind of crazy". What experiences in life enables you to relate to this quote?

Ashley: I absolutely love that quote about finding your kind of crazy in life. Everyone has their quirks, I'm a strong believer that when you find the people that are just the right amount of crazy for you then you've found your tribe.

Quotiful: What's your favorite quote or motto in life and why is it important to you?

"Fall in love or get inspired. Ace a test or flunk a class. Speak the truth. Dance on tables or sit in the corner. Life is divine chaos. Embrace it. Forgive yourself. Breathe. And enjoy the ride..." - Solbeam

This is so important to me because I think in order to live a truly happy life we have to enjoy the ride. People waste so much time thinking and planning about how to make the perfect life, find the best husband, make the most money, and have the best job. When really we should embrace the chaos of everyday life and swim with the current. Invest in the moment and live for today. Don't take life too seriously because no one makes it out alive. The time we have on Earth is small and I don't intend on wasting any of it; live the dream and let life happen to you.

Quotiful: What core message do you hope to inspire others with?

Ashley: I hope to inspire people to be the best version of themselves they can possibly be. I want to empower others to strive to be their best and not limit themselves. There is so much to do and learn while on this Earth and I want everyone to enjoy every single moment. Erma Bombeck was quoted saying "Worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but gets you nowhere." Love life and don't let anyone put a ceiling on your dreams or your potential. Say "yes" to everything and you should do something everyday that scares you, makes you feel alive.

Always Eat Dessert First

This week we had the honor of interviewing Bob Marshmallow. Bob's portfolio of Quotifuls is known for it's pensive and intellectual character. Read the interview, and if you are in need of some deep life thinking as well, follow Bob Marshmallow on Quotiful to discover more great quotes!

Quotiful: We love the pensive nature of the quotes you share to the Quotiful community. They make us reflect and more importantly; move us to take action towards making positive change. What experiences in your life have shaped these values?

Bob: One experience of being afraid of change was when there was a chance that I might not have been able to see any of my friends for the year of 8th grade. There was a chance that my family would have to move. I was afraid that I wouldn't make any new friends, let alone, see my other friends again. Another experience was when my best friends were all going to a certain high school; unlike me, which was when I was put in a situation in which I would be in a class with some of my recent classmates, whom never spoke to me too nicely. When nobody could help me through these situations, I read books. All sorts of books. And I kept on moving because of the motivating quotes I now keep in mind every day.

Quotiful: What's your favorite quote or motto in life and why is it important to you?

Bob: My favorite quote is said by John Muir, "The power of imagination makes us infinite."

This is my favorite quote because without creativity, what would the world be like now? Today, you can see a 10 year old with an iPhone 6, rather than making mud pies or pretending to be a superhero who saves the world from a villain. Without imagination, these 10 year olds wouldn't have an iPhone to check their Facebook status on. This quote inspires me to always think of awesome new things and ideas.

Quotiful: What core message do you hope to inspire others with?

Bob: My life motto is below:

"Be who you are. Do what you love and smile whenever you can. And always eat dessert first, because life is short."

Dream Big

This week we had the honor of interviewing Abby Gooch. Abby's portfolio of Quotifuls is one of the most popular portfolios in the Quotiful community. It centers around achieving life goals and pursuing your dreams. Follow Abby on Quotiful and discover more dream chasing quotes!

Quotiful: Your portfolio is one of the most liked in the Quotiful community and centers around life and dream quotes. Can tell us a little bit about your portfolio as it relates to these two things?

Abby: Well, my favorite quotes always have to do with life and dreams. I live, I dream, so on. Therefore, my Quotifuls usually have something to do with life or dreams.

Quotiful: If you could sum up your life motto with a favorite quote, what would that quote be? Why?

Abby: Okay, this is going to be hard. "If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough." I feel like if you don't doubt yourself at least once, you're not working hard enough.

Quotiful: If you could tell people one thing you learned in life what would it be? What do you want to inspire others with?

Abby: Everyone needs to know: BEAUTY IS NOT SKIN DEEP. Just because it's pretty on the outside does not mean it's pretty on the the inside. Pretty doesn't always mean it's good.

Quotiful: Can you describe how the Quotiful app help you inspire others or keep you stay inspired?

Abby: Quotiful. Wow. It's inspired me, my friends, even total strangers! My friend was kind of suicidal at one point. I made a photo collage of pictures of us and used it as a background of Quotiful. The quote was "God put you into this world for a reason. And it was NOT to take yourself out!" It really helped my friend. Now (with a little bit of other help) she's doing much better!

Below are some Quotifuls from Abby's portfolio. Check them out and be inspired to start living your dream!

Monsters & Ghosts

This week we had the honor of interviewing Alexa Owens. Alexa's portfolio of Quotifuls covers a range of different human emotions including love, regret, and gratitude. Follow Alexa on Quotiful and discover more great quotes.

Quotiful: If you could sum up your life motto with a favorite quote, what would it be and why?

Alexa: The motto for my life is: "Monsters are real and ghosts are real too but they live inside us and sometimes...they win." - Stephen king

Quotiful: If you could tell people one thing you've learned in life what would it be? What do you want to inspire others with?

Alexa: What I've learned in life is that you can't just go with the flow, you have to stand out and try to be happy. Do not give in to people who hurt you. You have to live life the way you want, not the way other people want you to. And if you think something is right stick to your answer, don't change for anyone, be who you are!

Quotiful: Can you describe how Quotiful has inspired you?

Alexa: This app has inspired me in so many ways, I can't even explain how happy I have been since I've found this app! It has made a huge impact on my quoting life.

Below are a few of Alexa's Quotifuls to take you on the roller coaster ride of human emotion.

Staying Positive

This week we had the opportunity to interview Christine Knudson Rainwater, an extremely positive and upbeat individual whose Quotifuls exude optimism. Follow Christine on Quotiful for more positive inspiration!

Quotiful: What core message do you hope to inspire others with?

Christine: My main objective in posting Quotifuls is actually to create a visual reminder to stay positive when life gets crazy. I need this reminder as much as anyone. I do try to stay positive. Being negative doesn’t help anyone.

Quotiful: Are there experiences you had that inspired this positive outlook on life?

Christine: I believe that I am here to be a servant to others, and maybe a leader (although that scares me). Most of us make things way messier than they need to be. I was told by someone to get out of my own head, because it’s scary in there. We can only be of service when we are in action. Thinking about things may be meaningful, but it’s awfully easy to stew about life and to get mired down in the moment instead of looking around and realizing that we’re okay.

I really believe that we are all interconnected in life, and if that is so, why wouldn’t I treat you the way I want to be treated. Even more challenging is treating ourselves the way we would want our children to be treated, with love and kindness.

Quotiful: What’s your favorite quote or motto in life and why is it important to you?

Christine: One of my main mantras is just to breathe.

Below are a few of Christine's Quotifuls to brighten your day :)
