Weekly Inspirer - Bob Marshmallow

Always Eat Dessert First

This week we had the honor of interviewing Bob Marshmallow. Bob's portfolio of Quotifuls is known for it's pensive and intellectual character. Read the interview, and if you are in need of some deep life thinking as well, follow Bob Marshmallow on Quotiful to discover more great quotes!

Quotiful: We love the pensive nature of the quotes you share to the Quotiful community. They make us reflect and more importantly; move us to take action towards making positive change. What experiences in your life have shaped these values?

Bob: One experience of being afraid of change was when there was a chance that I might not have been able to see any of my friends for the year of 8th grade. There was a chance that my family would have to move. I was afraid that I wouldn't make any new friends, let alone, see my other friends again. Another experience was when my best friends were all going to a certain high school; unlike me, which was when I was put in a situation in which I would be in a class with some of my recent classmates, whom never spoke to me too nicely. When nobody could help me through these situations, I read books. All sorts of books. And I kept on moving because of the motivating quotes I now keep in mind every day.

Quotiful: What's your favorite quote or motto in life and why is it important to you?

Bob: My favorite quote is said by John Muir, "The power of imagination makes us infinite."

This is my favorite quote because without creativity, what would the world be like now? Today, you can see a 10 year old with an iPhone 6, rather than making mud pies or pretending to be a superhero who saves the world from a villain. Without imagination, these 10 year olds wouldn't have an iPhone to check their Facebook status on. This quote inspires me to always think of awesome new things and ideas.

Quotiful: What core message do you hope to inspire others with?

Bob: My life motto is below:

"Be who you are. Do what you love and smile whenever you can. And always eat dessert first, because life is short."

Monsters & Ghosts

This week we had the honor of interviewing Alexa Owens. Alexa's portfolio of Quotifuls covers a range of different human emotions including love, regret, and gratitude. Follow Alexa on Quotiful and discover more great quotes.

Quotiful: If you could sum up your life motto with a favorite quote, what would it be and why?

Alexa: The motto for my life is: "Monsters are real and ghosts are real too but they live inside us and sometimes...they win." - Stephen king

Quotiful: If you could tell people one thing you've learned in life what would it be? What do you want to inspire others with?

Alexa: What I've learned in life is that you can't just go with the flow, you have to stand out and try to be happy. Do not give in to people who hurt you. You have to live life the way you want, not the way other people want you to. And if you think something is right stick to your answer, don't change for anyone, be who you are!

Quotiful: Can you describe how Quotiful has inspired you?

Alexa: This app has inspired me in so many ways, I can't even explain how happy I have been since I've found this app! It has made a huge impact on my quoting life.

Below are a few of Alexa's Quotifuls to take you on the roller coaster ride of human emotion.

Weekly Inspirer - Elisa

Face Your Fears

This week we had the chance to talk with Elisa, a dedicated athlete who inspires us to reach our highest fitness and personal goals. Elisa shows us the importance of persistence and the power of pushing past your fears to achieve your wildest dreams. Follow Elisa on Quotiful for more fitness inspiration and empowerment!

Quotiful: Your portfolio focuses on getting the best out of our bodies and developing a mental toughness in order to feel empowered to face life challenges. What experiences have you had that framed and inspired this outlook on life?

Elisa: Being an athlete since I was 15 and being in the Air Force for six years framed a tough mentality. And knowing that excuses weren't an option, that I was solely responsible for my mind and body's health.

Quotiful: What's your favorite quote or motto in life and why is it important to you?

Elisa: "When you fear something, the last thing you should do is run away from it."

This goes for everything I have encountered whether it was fitness related or life related. Many people never reach their full potential because they are afraid. And that's the biggest disappointment of all.

Quotiful: What core message do you hope to inspire others with?

Elisa: I think I would like to reach out and let people know that you have to keep fighting and keep moving forward. There are many unfortunate circumstances and things that are out of your control. But ultimately, you just take control of the things that you can. Despite where you were born, who you were born as, or any unfortunate circumstances, everyone has a choice. You can improve yourself, or you can self-destruct. And every choice you make has a consequence.

Below are a few of Elisa's quotes to encourage us all to feel empowered.
